As a country of scared folk, we are constantly fed lies, slight distortions, or even simply… bull@#%$. We eat it up, because we choose to not live in cages. If we step out of our cage, we want to make sure that our steps are cautious and predictable.
We hear every day how the media or politicians demonize the terms communism and socialism, and lead us to believe that a specific person, or party, will lead us into spiraling free fall that will end with us becoming a third-world country. I cannot read minds, nor do I care to.
But one thing is true, the number of ignorant voters are growing daily.
These are people who never turned on the news until Barack Obama had a chance to actually WIN. These are people who never turned on the news until they wanted to find faults with Sarah Palin… both sides are filled with ignorant voters. But one thing is certain, they are no different from each other.
What exactly is communism and socialism?
Communism is defined as a system of social organization in which all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating political party.
Socialism, however, is defined as a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.
Note the difference?
Some say they are the same thing, but they are not.
When it comes to “Big Business” we see how the government spoons with Corporations on a daily basis. Hey, don’t LOAN them money to help them get out of a slump, just GIVE them our money. Don’t call us taxpayers “shareholders” that can get a ROI after a loan repayment… just put a boot in our butts and tell us to like it.
When the government wants to run a corporation… we call it communism. When the corporations run the government, as they currently do, we ignore it.
Why? Why don’t we just stop electing PRESIDENTS, and just give CEO’s the keys to the country and tell them to govern the citizens? That would be foolishness, right? — well we must be fools. It’s been happening for years! We ignore it because we are fed this BS daily about how it’s the Democrats running things into the ground, or how Republicans have already run things out of control — but until we understand the truth, we will always be fools.
This is bigger than politics.
